Front counter at Corstorphine Police Station re-opens (varying hours, Mon-Sun, Jul-Sep)

PC Sam Davison says:

"I'm pleased to say we now have a Station assistant at Corstorphine allowing the front counter to be open on a regular basis. I thought it would be helpful to put together the opening times as the hours are not the same each week."

He goes on to say that the dates and times can be subject to change at short notice. You can download the opening times under Useful downloads

Coltbridge Viaduct open this weekend (of 20/06/20), maybe others

Following the closure of Coltbridge Viaduct for several weeks City Councillor Gillian Gloyer has been told:

"We will be re-opening the path for the weekends, providing it will not have detrimental effect on the works.  This will be reviewed and posters will be updated on weekly basis going forward. The deck works have not started yet, therefore the bridge will be opened fully this weekend: Friday 19th @1700hrs – Monday 22nd @0700hrs."

According to the City Council and contractor (Barhale), the closure is so that the remaining refurbishment works can be carried out in a COVID-safe manner. The suddenness of the closure apparently follows the Scottish Government's 11 June announcement, permitting the resumption of such work (originally planned for completion Spring 2020).

There is no access to Water of Leith steps, and the alternative routes are via Coltbridge Terrace / Roseburn Terrace (or parts of Quiet Route

The City of Edinburgh Council are using online portals only for Traffic Order information (including all current Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders) because of "the ongoing Covid-19 situation". Their notice to this effect is available under Useful Downloads below.  The main portals are:

  • all orders in process can be viewed (and commented on) on their website at https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/roads-pavements
  • and you can get text or email alerts (about proposed Permanent orders, and other things) in the local

"Food collection, Murrayfield 14th June.

Hi everyone. We are arranging a collection for the foodbank at LOVE Gorgie Farm. Despite reopening just before lockdown, the foodbank at Gorgie farm have delivered almost 400 food parcels around their local area. They are still seeing enormous demand and would be very grateful for donations of:

  • Packaged/ dried goods eg pasta, rice, cereals. noodles, oats
