Missing pillar at corner of Murrayfield/Abinger Gdns and Corstorphine Rd

Following extensive lobbying by Robert Smart, our Vice-Convener, and his discovery of the location of the damaged pillar in a yard in Bonnyrigg, he had heard from the Secretary of Abinger Gardens Proprietors Association that following support in kind but not in cash by the Council, the money from the third party insurers will make use of the existing pillar for its repair and replacement. The Community Council also gave approval for expenditure of up to £200 on a preliminary assessment from the City’s stone expert of this pillar and of the “Geddes” pillars at the entrance to Roseburn Cliff.
