No. 13 Bus Service
Tuesday, 1 April 2008
On an experimental basis the No. 13 bus was routed via the Craigleith Retail Park. However very few people used this and so it is likely to be discontinued. The extension of the service 13 beyond Ravelston is currently operated by Lothian Buses under contract to the City of Edinburgh Council , who, having reviewed passenger numbers against the cost of maintaining this link, have concluded that it fails to deliver value for money for the subsidy required. As a consequence the Council have decided the service will in due course revert to operating to Blackhall on selected peak journeys only. It is understood that an application has been made to the Traffic Commissioner by the City of Edinburgh Council for permission to withdraw the majority of Ravelston to Blackhall trips with effect from 24 May 2008.
